Our Story

Conservana Spices

Bumi Lestari Conservana processes non-timber forest products from Indonesian conserved forests, such as vanilla pods, coffee beans, essential oil plants etc. We process these non-timber forest products into consumer-ready end products such as spices and ingredients for the food and beverage industries. We manufacture, package, and distribute these products both locally and globally. Our goal is to improve the livelihoods of forest communities by reviving traditional forest gardening culture and expanding climate smart agriculture. We believe that these strategies will help to protect forest ecosystems, restore wildlife habitats, and mitigate the effects of climate change.

Impact on Environment

Preservation of Biodiversity

Conservana's Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) are cultivated through a rustic agriculture system that avoids the cutting of large trees. This approach helps to preserve biodiversity by maintaining the natural habitat of various wildlife species within the forest.

Deforestation Mitigation

Our sustainable agricultural practices contribute to the mitigation of deforestation. By rehabilitating degraded areas without compromising existing large trees, we actively combat the threat of deforestation, ensuring the longevity of vital ecosystems.

Promotion of Sustainable Agriculture

Conservana's approach embraces sustainable agricultural practices, moving away from large-scale, intensive monocultures. This not only helps in maintaining soil health but also promotes a diverse range of crops, creating a balanced ecosystem that supports wildlife.

Climate Resilience

Our commitment to a rustic agriculture system aligns with climate-resilient practices. By avoiding disruptive deforestation and implementing sustainable farming methods, Conservana contributes to climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts.

Creation of Sustainable Livelihoods

Conservana's initiatives not only benefit wildlife and the environment but also contribute to the creation of sustainable livelihoods for local communities. This multifaceted approach ensures a balance between economic development and environmental conservation.

Reduced Pollution and Contamination

By avoiding the use of harmful pesticides and adopting environmentally friendly cultivation methods, Conservana minimizes pollution and contamination risks. This ensures that our products contribute to a healthier ecosystem.

Zero Waste in Processing Facilities

In line with sustainable practices, Conservana's processing facilities operate with a commitment to zero waste. This reduces the environmental impact of our operations and promotes responsible resource management. Minimizing waste not only benefits the environment but also aligns with our dedication to sustainability and ecological balance.
